Research Analysts - Securities drive portfolio outperformance through timely and impactful coverage of stock holdings across firm strategies and industry/thematic research for the IPC. Analysts cover specific industries and learn about trends in their space.
You'll cultivate research and market knowledge alongside highly motivated peers who share a passion for markets. You’ll learn the quantitative and qualitative skills used by successful analysts with in-depth training in a diverse, supportive environment. You’ll develop expertise in your coverage and how it fits within FI’s top-down framework. You’ll learn how to deliver timely and relevant research to the IPC, generate impactful portfolio recommendations and how best to communicate important insights, while providing support across the Research community. Our in-depth training program includes structured classes and frequent real-time coaching tailored to your coverage. It spans several weeks and covers financial statement and business analysis, how to conduct management meetings, and more.
The Day-to-Day:
- Collaborate with the IPC, Capital Markets Research Team, Capital Markets Innovation Team, other Securities analysts and Portfolio Engineers to translate macro investment themes into appropriate stock/industry/cross-sector buy and sell recommendations
- Experience personal growth on a diverse team that prioritizes learning, flexibility and fulfillment
- Connect with internal and external clients across PCG, FIE and FIIG supporting sales and service efforts
Your Qualifications:
- Feel passionate about markets and possess a curiosity to discover the latest trends
- Thrive amidst ambiguity, creating actionable and easy-to-understand insights
- Maintain courage and professionalism in the face of discomfort and fast-paced change
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Have the organizational focus needed to support collaborative, inter-connected research projects with overlapping and time-sensitive deadlines

Compensation:
- $90,000 - $140,000 base salary per year for employees in the state of CA. Employees will continue to be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
- Employees new to the role should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience.
We will conduct a preliminary screen of applicants based on qualifications, performance and manager feedback.
