Successful applicants should have a background managing datasets in Excel, deep understanding of FI Investment philosophy, and familiarity with Python or similar programmatic environments, or a desire to learn. In this Data Scientist role, you’ll collaborate on IPC projects, maintain key proprietary datasets, and proactively create unique capital markets technology. You’ll partner with other Analysts to develop new insights, leveraging internal databases and 3rd party software systems. Successful analysts can effectively communicate both written and verbally to different audiences ranging from the IPC, Investment Counselors, PCG and FIIG clients and prospects.


The Day-to-Day:

  • Develop, maintain, and empirically validate investment themes 
  • Partner with CM/Sec Analysts to quantify Actionable Investment Themes at the universe level 
  • Develop scalable, interactive tools all of research can use for testing & tracking ideas 
  • Regular reporting of our themes & key developments including divergent and emergent trends
  • Highlighting divergences of themes, and emergent trends 
  • Reporting on key projects & development milestones 
  • Create datasets from unstructured sources and work with data engineers to incorporate into our broader data strategy
  • Develop Research trainings on use of advanced techniques and how to use applications 
  • Mentorship of Specialists to develop their knowledge of new systems & techniques 
  • Leverage programmatic environments for daily workflows

Your Qualifications:

  • Enthusiastic about capital markets and understanding of FI investment philosophy
  • Have advanced analytic skills in Excel, with knowledge of financial data providers
  • Experience with Python or similar programming languages a plus
  • Dependable, can handle multiple projects from the IPC and Senior Management simultaneously
  • Communicate effectively across various audiences (IPC, IC’s, RM’s, PCG Clients, FIIG Clients)
  • Able to manage complexity and demonstrate creative, nimble learning
  • Values inclusive learning, encourages different perspectives, and cooperates well with others

Compensation:

  • $85,000 - $115,000 base salary per year in the state of WA - New hires should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience
  • Eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance
