The Capital Markets team is responsible for finding and monitoring investing opportunities across countries, sectors and styles. Research Analysts - Capital Markets create top-down research for the IPC by identifying macroeconomic, political, and investor sentiment drivers in their assigned area of coverage. Through understanding the past and developing new research, this role supports the IPC in developing portfolio themes and positioning.
In addition, Capital Market Analysts play a critical role in educating private and institutional clients and prospects on our investment process and market outlook, boosting client retention and sales efforts. This is achieved through in-person events and meetings as well as publishing externally-facing content like MarketMinder articles and Institutional white papers.
Capital Market Analysts are typically assigned to one specific region or sector at a time, but eventually rotate once they have developed depth in their coverage area. They will take on new challenges within the team.
Communication skills, the ability to tailor messaging to different audiences, managing complexity and ambiguity, a commitment to collaboration, being proactive and courageous, and most importantly a desire to learn are all traits of successful Capital Markets Analysts.
The Day-to-Day:
- Produce written research that analyzes current events and market drivers in assigned coverage to help IPC better understand markets, improve portfolio positioning, and performance
- Verbally communicate with IPC on important developments and provide one’s own views on coverage areas when appropriate
- Be the subject matter expert for the firm in assigned coverage for IPC and internal clients
- Educate clients and prospects and represent the firm in PCG and FIIG meetings and events
- Support Investment Counselors and FIIG RMs with client-facing content including MarketMinder articles and Institutional white papers
- Focus on developing your communication skills and learn from a high performing team with years of experience
Your Qualifications:
- Have a passion and curiosity for markets and investing
- Want to learn FI investment philosophy and how it applies to a constantly changing world
- Can manage complexity and ambiguity, and demonstrate nimble learning
- Can distill complex ideas and concepts into the most salient points
- Enjoy drawing insights from data
Compensation:
- $100,000 - $125,000 base salary per year for employees in the state of WA. Employees new to the role should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience.
