The Opportunity:

The Associate Vice President - Investment Operations leads multiple Investment Ops teams. Accountabilities include focusing on scale and efficiency, managing risk, and collaborating with other internal teams and groups to improve workflows, technology and the overall client experience.


The Day-to-Day:

  • Managerial responsibilities for all employees within the assigned Teams, including staffing teams for current and anticipated needs, effectively managing employee performance, and driving organizational development activities to support the long-term goals of the firm
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development to team members, through performance reviews, continual feedback, coaching and career growth for direct reports
  • Promote effective communication, project management, decision-making, and innovative thinking to meet the demands of growing complexity
  • Participate in setting goals and objectives for assigned group; drive results through assigned teams
  • Responsibility for all budgeting/planning/project schedules, including future forecasts and involvement in contract negotiations
  • Creation, implementation, and maintenance of all policies and procedures within assigned teams/areas
  • Work closely with Compliance, HR, and Legal and other applicable groups to ensure alignment with firm goals and all legal/regulatory requirements
  • Oversee development and ongoing maintenance of knowledge and training materials
  • Other projects and responsibilities as deemed necessary

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Provide strategic oversight and execution of all business results within assigned purview, including deadlines and deliverables delivered by third party consultants
  • Collaborate with Client Services, Legal and Compliance Department (LCD), Portfolio Management Group Business Process Management (PMG BPM) and other internal groups to properly prioritize and drive initiatives through to completion
  • Oversee and manage business audits and risk assessments, including managing the identification and analysis of risks; review findings, recommendations, and audit results; share results with appropriate management and implement changes to reduce risk
  • Ensure proper technology is in place to appropriately machine and scale global implementation processes, including large rebalances and/or defensive planning purposes
  • Build upon current team metrics and reporting to ensure accountability and transparency

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and experience required
  • Previous Investment Operations experience preferred
  • 8 years of professional experience preferred, ideally with an operations or related focus
  • 3 years of experience managing and building effective, high-performing teams preferred
  • Ability to understand corporate goals and set group goals and objectives
  • Ability to set policies/procedures on a group level
  • Ability to work independently, work with others, and exercise judgment
  • Ability to think creatively and offer solutions
  • Ability to initiate change and manage varying priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Pro-active approach to problem-solving and ability to seek appropriate assistance rapidly
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous managerial experience and strong leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

Compensation:

  • $120,000 - $150,000 base salary per year for employees in the state of WA. Employees new to the role should expect to start at the lower end of the range depending on experience.
  • Employees will continue to be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance. For any questions, please reach out to the hiring manager
